Single Tank Vegoil System - This system uses your original diesel tank for vegetable oil. Modifications are made to the fuel delivery lines, injectors and glow plugs.
Advantages of the Single Tank Vegoil System - There is no loss of storage space in the boot or other area of the vehicle as no additional tank is needed. Use of the single tank system is seamless with a similar start up procedure to using mineral diesel. There is no need to flush the system so short journeys are practical on Vegetable Oil with this system. The converted vehicle will run with Vegetable Oil, Mineral Diesel, Biodiesel or any mixture / combination of these. This eliminates availability problems as any of these fuels can be put straight into the tank where available. In cold weather conditions where vegetable oil may become more viscous it is a simple matter to add diesel or biodiesel to the tank to lower the viscosity of the fuel.
Disadvantages of the Single Tank Vegoil System - Single Tank Vegoil System Kits tend to be more expensive than two tank systems which don't rely on changes to injectors or glow plugs. It is neccessary to be prepared to mix diesel or biodiesel with the vegoil in cold climates to ensure reliable operation. This ensures a lower viscosity for the resulting vegoil / diesel mix allowing easier flow through fuel lines, fuel pump and fuel injectors.
